I haven't been to the track in the past year. My control arm bushings are shot causing drivability issues at the limit. I tried to install the AFE/ PFadt Poly Bushing Kit back in May, but broke one of the upper control arm rods with the press. AFE was extremely generous and sent me replacement parts free of charge(thank you!). I took a little break, but I'm hoping to have the bushings installed within the next few weeks.
I'm currently installing fresh ball joints and front tie rods. I purchased a LG Motorsports HD rear bumpsteer/ tie rod kit locally and thinking about putting that in as well.
Here is a list of changes I've made since my last post:
T1 Front and Rear Sway bars
APR GTC-500 Rear Wing
Cyber Grey Hatch with Lexan Glass
Apex 18x11 EC7 Square
Brembo GT BBK
AMT Camber Kit
AMT Upper Stud Kit
LED Side Markers
Here are a few pictures of the car now
Met up with my friend with a LM7 FRS
That's all for now, hoping to get back out to the track this season!
Last October, the car received a harmonic balancer, new head gaskets, water pump, 180F water thermostat and hoses. Cylinder 3 had a stripped spark plug, so I pulled the heads to have the cylinder heli-coiled. I also replaced the head gaskets, lifters, trays and performed the trunnion kit upgrade as the motor had 135k miles.
I was finally able to install the AFE Poly Control Arm bushing kit. I also installed upper and lower ball joints, OEM front inner tie rods and bumpsteer kit both front and rear.
I took the car to the track in March and the car has never felt better. It used to have numb steering feel, now it feels like a precision tool.
I previously had a 212F oil thermostat and my oil temps could reach 290F+ before the end of a HPDE session (20 min). I updated to a 180F, now my oil temp reads a max of 275F on the DIC.
