Was wondering if anyone has an old GPS antenna laying around.I am wanting to make a base for my XM antenna and mount it where the GPS is mounted.I am only needing a pattern of the factory base so I can make one.I don't want to have to buy one at $50 just to get the dimensions. Thanks!

Did your car originally have the stock navigation system with XM in it ? If so, you can reuse the stock GPS and XM antennas with an aftermarket system, here's some instructions telling you how. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-xm-tuner.html
I have the XM but no navigation.I used your guidance to use my factory XM antenna but my reception seems to cut in and out a lot.I was just going to try and mount an XM antenna on the factory GPS base to see if it would help. Not much else to do with the current virus situation.

Sorry to hear that, it's worked well for myself and others. Usually most people will put the aftermarket XM antenna on top of the HVAC ducts under the dash behind the center console which is where I had mine before I did the stock antenna mod, and it seemed to work fine, but I think I get slightly better reception now after doing the mod.
Not your fault.Your writeup was great but I may have created my own issues.I noticed while installing the cables that one of the connectors was loose on my extension cable.I could move it and lose XM signal on my receiver.I cut off the plugs and soldered the wires together and didn't think this would be an issue.Maybe it was a problem and I was the creator.Definitly NOT the first screwup I have made!

Oh yeah, that could defiantly be the problem, these cables don't respond well to any cutting and soldering, I agree with trying a new cable like you suggested, and I'm certain this will address the issue.
I do have a 6' extension cable and a splitter, the only thing is getting them to you, something I wasn't thinking about earlier is that I'm considered one of those high risk individuals when it comes to this virus thing which means I have to be careful with limiting any potential for exposure as much as possible. I guess I was just so used to running to the post office like I used to in the past before all of this virus stuff came up.
Also what year is your car ? I'm assuming it's one that uses the newer yellow and green connectors for the stock antenna connections correct ? And you're using this tuner also correct ? https://www.crutchfield.com/S-i3tbCu...0V1-Tuner.html
My car is a 2008 and I have the yellow/green connectors. That is also the tuner I am using.I was able to order the splitter but I am not having much luck with the cable.I understand the exposure thing,This virus has everyone at risk and has changed a lot of the things we have always taken for granted.I appreciate all the help you have offered
