Sometimes I buy used parts. These Kooks 1 ⁷/⁸" headers and H pipe I bought for $900 installed as you see. Since the exhaust was out I supplied a DEI fabric heat shield for around the starter along with tunnel and side plate DEI heat shields.
The headers have no dents but were quite scourched from 2 years on the shop's 8 second Procharged project car. With some emery, Flitz and liberal amounts of free Elbow Greaze the headers and H pipe turned out good.
Below are the headers before the Flitz-elbow greaze mix....
After ...
The car is still at the shop, Cruz'n Performance in IL. and should be finished in day or so.
The AC runs cold and its not a race car. This Monterey red with black interior, mildly supercharged, Z51 base Corvette will serve as a reliable summer cruiser and road trip car.
Upon its next visit to Cruz'n Performance it will recieve fuel delivery enhancements and a trans cooler.
I am old. I know lots of stuff. 25 years ago I polished stainless trim from 60s & 70s muscle cars so I applied the basic knowledge.
Headers are made from stainless steel. Stainless, brass and aluminum all are ez to bring back to luster. Stainless takes a little more work becuz its harder material.
I used emory cloth and Flitz liquid since already had it here.
And yes. Its a little more work ie elbow grease than running a key board.
Out.

hahahahha very nice! i always used never dull on my '15 yamaha raider since it was all chrome... i will never buy an all chrome motorcycle ever again! that **** took alllllll day looked good but if you actually rode it, took a lot to keep it looking good....
When I originaly post this the exhaust was already
done.
The 1st pic shows that inexpensive DEI precut stick-on drive shaft tunnel, heat insulation before headers & Hpipe are installed.
Stainless steel will polish up (unfuck) good no matter how bad it looks. But the chrome like shine doesnt last long under heat.
Here are pics of what was polished stainless after only 135 miles and a dozen or so WOT boosted street pulls.
Thanks
