Hi, I have an 06 LS 2 with 21500 miles, needs a harmonic balancer, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
I have a 2007 with 23K that needs one too since I've noticed the wobble. When I replace mine I'll use a Gates or Dorman brand replacement since they are a better quality than the OEM ones that GM uses. Some would advise to go with a performance or racing dampener such as ATI but for normal driving its more expensive and a bit of overkill.
OP...a recap of my experience. 2005 Base. At ~45,000 miles I had the OEM balancer replaced as preventive maintenance with a Dorman. Less than a year and about 2,000 miles later, the Dorman failed (the bonded rubber sheared from the hub). The shop was great and replaced that with an ATI and no problems since. I would recommend you pay a few bucks more and get the ATI balancer...ymmv.
Thanks for the information, the only thing that I had noticed was a little chirping, so was getting an oil change and asked them to check it and they saw a little wobble!

Check out my recent parts list I made. This may help your decision. I'd recommend at least the OEM Dayco one with the ARP bolt. The cost for install and labor shouldn't be much different in pricing. It'll be worth it over the one the shop quoted. C6 Harmonic Balancer Parts List Thread
