Default Removing front plate....question

I had the wrench for the bolts that hold the plate...it came with vette. But now I can't find it anywhere and want to remove this plate and put on the required Ohio plate. Anyone know what this type of tool is called? Never seen these before. Thanks for any reply.

Looks like you need a spanner wrench/socket. Guessing it’s not that tight, may be able to use a couple screws/pins and pair of pliers.

Use a pair of snap ring pliers or needle nose pliers.... https://www.harborfreight.com/Snap-R...ads-63845.html

Use a dremel tool to cut a slot for a flat blade screwdriver.
Only other option is the c clip retainer pliers with good tips.

It is called a security screw. Local hardware or big box hardware store should have a screwdriver that will work on them. The end of the screwdriver looks like half of an H. You can see four different sizes in this set.

You can make your own tool if you have an old screw driver that is wide enough. Just use a dremel to cut out the center of the screw driver leaving you two prongs.

Lakecat...... Earth calling...............As of July 1, 2020 Ohio does not require a front plate...........

They will only nail you on a front plate if the pull you over for another reason, hold it down for a few more weeks.

Can you say China - or any other country that uses substandard materials for production of tools.

I know - but for the hobbyist, or one-time need like the OP here - they are hard to beat...
