I have been thinking about getting an ‘enjoyment’ car for quite a while and narrowed the search to a Vette several years ago. I very much appreciate the looks of a Corvette and what it does and what it stands for.
As much as I like carving the twisties an important consideration was the power plant. The LS3 is impressive from the factory but also holds possibilities for upgrading to what I consider to be serious power.
Not long ago the design of a car when mostly one direction or another. Either it was optimized to run the twisties and could pull greater than 1 G laterally or the focus was on the power plant, 10 lbs\HP was kind of the threshold.
The C6 does both and does it with awesome style.
It also has potential for power significantly beyond 10 lb\HP.
After several conversations with a gentleman we came to an agreement yesterday on a Supercharged 2010 3LT base model in Crystal Red with ~20k miles. It will be a few weeks until I can break away from work to retrieve it. When that happens I will fly to Shreveport and drive it back to Dayton. What an awesome way to start.
Thats a perty color especialy around dusk.
Last Jan I bought a supercharged base.
If I had it to do over I think I would get a GrandSport manual.
for the versitile wide body, oil coolers and other things a base does not have.
I say GS and not Z06 because in my opinion the LS3 is better suited for boost that the LS7.
Bought my 2010 GS with 11,500 miles on the clock in early Jan 2019. She's got about 17,250 miles on her now. I've done several mods, my favorite being installing a Maggie Heartbeat in October of 2019. Love it! That's a great looking Vette and you saved a ton of cash getting one with a supercharger already installed! Enjoy the car! I flew and picked mine up too, drove it home 700 miles and stopped at the National Corvette Museum (had never been there, wanted to go for years). Always have a smile on my face after I get out of it.....
Super charging to increase the HP is the cheap part, and its the drive line/braking/handling upgrades the expensive part to put all the HP to use instead.
So on that note on the new car, what has been changed out in the later to put the ZR1 type power into play.

Congrats! You're going to love the power. I have a supercharged GS with 708rwhp and it's a handful. Just make sure you are pointed straight when you hit the gas!

I have the ECS 1500, headers, cam, meth, twin disc clutch. It's only running 11.5 psi, so I'm not really pushing it to it's potential. I could make this much power without the cam.
Yeah the GS has the dry sump LS3. LS3's are great for boost.
