So last night I heard a knock on my door. Two boys around 10 years old are standing there. "Mister. Uh, you're gonna be mad at us. Please don't be mad at us. I hit your car with my bike on accident." He was on the verge of tears and I felt so bad for him. My car happened to be parked outside of the garage, which is a rare instance. Long story short, he clipped the drivers side mirror with the handle bars of his bike and knocked the mirror clean out of the housing. Surprisingly the mirror wasn't broken!
Told the boys that I wanted to talk to their parents. Went to their place and I told their dad that he should be proud of them for standing up and taking responsibility. No harm done. So that brings me to this...
When I reinstalled the mirror there is no up/down function. The pin circled in yellow; looks like I am missing one where the arrow is pointing. Help? Anyone know if that part is available?
I would check with Cultrag or even AEScorvetteparts.com I’ve seen lots of mirrors for sale on their site. I’ve personally have done business with both of these vendors without issue.
Good luck with repairs and good to know there are still some parents raising their children right.
www.chevynationparts.net is Huffines Chevy in Lewisville. Cheaper prices than other online parts vendors & you can drive over & pick it up.
Thanks, I have figured out that I don't need a mirror. I took off the passenger side mirror--carefully--and saw that the pins are actually part of the actuator/motor and not part of the mirror. That motor is not sold separately.
I've put in a few calls/emails to a couple of Corvette salvage yards to see if they have a nonworking side view mirror assembly that they will let go cheap. Otherwise I'll have to buy the assembly.

Well, after two weeks I was finally able to find the part I needed. I didn't really relish the idea of paying for an entire assembly. I wasn't able to find any help through the vendors here. Eventually I just googled for used Corvette parts and started calling. No one was much help as they all wanted to sell the entire mirror assembly.
I must have called 10 places until I came across Contemporary Corvettes, Guy (that's his name) said he'd toss it in the mail--no charge. He only asked that I give him a chance if I ever needed a part.

I'm glad you were able to get the part. We really love our Vettes. Since rhe vendor did the right thing for you, you may consider suggesting that he become a sponsor on tghe Forum. It will definitely increase his business. Just my $ 0,2
Hi, I have the exact same problem with my driver's side mirror. I realise this is an older post but I sure hope this fellow can provide me with this tiny part that seems to be non existent anywhere else on the WWW.
The piece referred to might still be in the actuator housing, these slip into the rubber piece on the actuator, sometimes they come out with the mirror and sometimes they don’t, (See white arrow in the photo). If they do come out with the mirror, you want to carefully pop them off the mirror, then push them back in rubber and into the actuator, they should pop right in, then snap the mirror back in to all four mounting pins, make sure to use even pressure when pushing on the glass so you don’t break it.
Thanks so much… let me know how to get in touch with you so I can pay you for the item and the postage
thanks,
Tom
I was not able to find the piece. I am pretty organized so it's driving me crazy that I can't find it! I have one other place to look and I'll check there on Saturday.
Did you reach out to Contemporary Corvettes? They were able to help me with that part when I couldn't find it anywhere. https://www.contemporarycorvette.com/
