I'm following the instructions but after turning the key 5 times, I can't get the DIC to show any messages at all. I have one good fob and tried to test the glove box slot and still nothing.
Are you saying that you have 1 good programmed fob and you're trying to program a new fob? Otherwise, there's no reason to reprogram the fob that you have.

Yes, I have one good fob and a new one that I'm trying to program.
Try spraying some contact cleaner, and then WD-40 into the keyhole so that the key turns easier. You need to turn it all the way, just don't apply excessive force. You can also turn it more than 5 times - it won't hurt the procedure. The computer is just looking for any 5 successful turns within 5 seconds. And of course, make sure you are following the steps exactly.

^^^^^^^THIS I had a very difficult time getting this work. I was about to give up and then I got the "feel" of it. After that it was easy. Keep trying.

Tried it again after dinner, no luck at all. I checked the battery to make sure it was good and it was fully charged. I can see how you can get frustrated.

Do you have a Canadian or European Corvette? If so, fobs can't be programmed at home without the magic tool.
Locksmiths have the programming equipment (at least the one I went to). I bought a new fob and he cut the emergency key then asked if I needed the fob programmed. He was surprised that I could do it myself.
Don't know if it would be any cheaper than the dealer though. (I didn't ask)
Double check to make sure that the rear hatch lock wiring connector is still connected.
Hence the what is going on, is there is a electrical switch in the lock assembly, and Keying the cycling is closing the connection to send that signal to the BCM. So could be that the connector may need to be cleaned, could be disconnected, or switch just gummed up and not closing on full key turn instead.
Also to point out, you can't use the key to program in a export model. Also, using the Key will take 30 min wait time once you get the car into relearn mode, while tech 2 take about 3 mins, and you can erase and program a new fob into any RCDLR straight shot instead. If nothing else, its a good reason to buy a Nano for $109, so you do have a tech II on hand for wrenching on the car as well.
It was suggested to me to make sure my cell phone was nowhere near the car before starting this process. I put it in the house and things worked as planned.
Well I took it to the dealer and they couldn't program it either so I'm not losing it after all! Anyway someone mentioned the rear hatch lock may not be connected (see post 13). Can someone direct me on how to check that or at least get access to it so I can make sure its connected properly. The rear hatch does open when I turn the key if that helps. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
