Does anyone know at what mileage the trip odometer resets itself to zero? I recently went on a trip and zeroed it before we left. At one point I had about 1200 miles on it but the next time I checked it was o my showing 218. I’ve checked the owners manual but didn’t find an answer.
From previous discussions, seems like 1999.9 was the magic number.
Your response is confirmed by this passage from the owners manual: The trip odometers are able to display up to 3217.9 km (1999.9 mi). This display will roll over to 0.0 if the maximum displayed miles or kilometers are reached.
Had this happen on several long road trips. Kind of annoying. I guess GM figured no vette owner would ever take a long trip because it might rain, or the car would get dusty.

Or the shift cable would mess up and leave you stranded !

Or the overnight parking at the hotel without the tender on the battery since you can't find an outlet to plug it in, could end badly in the morning instead.
Hell, with as much time that C6 and onward models spend on the tenders, GM may as well add a Tesla quick charging inlet to the Vet's.

That information is only available in the 2012 and 2013 owner's manuals.
Thanks for the response! I’m guessing we went around 3000 miles in total. Went from KS to Pigeon Forge TN and rode the Tail of the Dragon and several other roads in the area and then on to Tybee Island off of the coast of Savannah GA and eventually back home. Gone about 12 days total with rain for six of them. Vette did not melt and performed great but is absolutely filthy. Cleaned the interior today and will get the outside tomorrow.
That explained what happened to me on a recent trip. I went from the Mississippi coast to Asheville, NC then to Chapel Hill, NC then to Macon, Ga and back home to the coast. I knew I would be over 2000 on the trip between Macon and the coast. I had checked once and was over 1900 but when i checked again it was like 100 and something. I thought I had reset it by mistake.

If it rolls over at 1999.9 and you see 322 miles, then you drove 2,322 miles. Or did you want to take a picture of the actual miles? I am trying to figure out why does it matter?

Guess the reason it matters is you should not have to take a basic addition test every time you go on a trip over 1999 miles. You should be able (at a glance), see how many miles you have gone on a LONG trip. Oh well....

Yes, or you drove 4,322 or 6,322 miles. I was trying to keep track of how far off I was on a daily basis due to detours and side trips on a 7,000 mile or so road trip. It would have just been easier to compare the trip meter to the trip plan, rather than having to keep adding an offset which changed, to the trip meter.

I also use the odometer for trips, but wish I could pause the odometer for the side trips. Never went on a 7,000 mile odyssey before. Very cool.
