Now my '72 has a garage mate. I've been reading and talking about getting one for over a year now. Picked up an '06 6MT convertible with all the bells and whistles, ride control, HUD, navigation, Bose, power top. dead stock. Can't believe how smooth and quiet it rides in touring mode. You can have a conversation at freeway speeds with the top down. And boy does it rip when you run it hard through the gears. I don't know why I waited so long. Now I just gotta learn what all these buttons do..
I lived near you for a while. After living in Del Mar for 4 years I lived in Ontario for almost a year before moving back to the Kansas City area. You're in a nice area for a year around drop top.
Congrats! Completely different car than the classic, but you will drive them both for sure (because they are so different). I like them both for completely different reasons. Enjoy your new ride!
Learning the function of all the "bells and whistles" is part of the enjoyment of owning a later model Vett. Even after years of ownership, you will discover the ins and outs for new buttons. The C6 Forum will be a source of good, and sometimes questionable information. But as a veteran of Corvette Forum, you know the adage about advice........! Welcome to the C6 Forum and enjoy your new ride!
Congrats on the C6, I have an '06 6MT Convertible with all the bells and whistles too I have owned it for 8 months now. It's my daily driver and I love everything about it. I guarantee that you will too.
Beautiful '72 Convertible, would love to see more pictures of them both.
