I installed one of these over the weekend. Not too bad at all. Worst part was wearing out my back and shoulders to get under the dash. Bigger dudes would be well served to pull out the seat. I’m 5'9" and 160 pounds and it was all I could do to get underneath the dash with both arms.
my questions are, where did you mount the controller?
How did you go about actually adjusting it?
Trying to adjust it on the street is tough, unless you want to get a ticket 😎
I originally had it on the in the center console but it gets too hot in there and eventually fried my first one. So now it is mounted on the center dash. Also, these are not very good on the street, and a bit dangerous at low speeds as it blips when you don't want it to. Really should be reserved for track use. I turn mine off in the paddock or when tooling around as it is a bit wonky at such low speeds. Otherwise it works great.
Yep. Just replaces having to heel-toe the downshifts to match the revs. I heel-toed for years and this just does it better and more accurately/consistently than me when driving in anger. Plus one less thing I have to do or think about at 150mph when decelerating for a turn. Again, it is rather useless for casual street driving and even a bit wonky at low speeds. More of a novelty.
