Default Ls3 E-85 kit?

right now it has a 93 octane tune...
so dont see running e-85 costing much more and gaining an extra 20-30 horses out of the deal.

Question is where to buy the kit? And is there any long tern negative effects?
Thanks 😊

If your Vette is stock other than a tune, I don't think you'll get that much benefit out of E85. Hope I'm wrong. The best tuner on the planet told me it wouldn't be worthwhile on my heads, cam, and bolt ons LS3 Vette. Even with the compression ratio upped a bit.

atm just full exhaust. Kinda looking at twin turbo in the future

With boost, E85 is a no brainer. Cooling effect with more octane is all good. I just believe that unless you're way high on the static CR (13:1 for example) on a max effort type built engine, you won't see much benefit in a normally aspirated engine.

I agree with the above. E85 is good for 30-40 horsepower on my ZR1, which makes north of 600rwhp. If you're planning forced induction (I saw the possibility of a TT setup) or just have cash to burn- go for it. Otherwise I'd spend the money elsewhere. Good luck!

Listen to these guys..e85 on heads and cam ls3 will only net you like 5 hp. Ask me how i know. With my e85 cam and heads setup, i only name 6 hp more. Then with i threw an ecs supercharger on i made 701rwhp on 93 pump gas. on e85 pump @ e50% i made 805rwhp. Thats a whole 100rwhp more.

Yes, on stock N/A engine with tune, may pick up an extra 5hp since can't push the timing much, but at the cost of burning 30% more E85 per mile, even when cruising.
Hence on a LS3 with stock tune, anything over a octane rating of 93, is a waste since it not going to produce any more power in the motor.

As for where e85 shines since it does have a octane rating of 108, is supercharged/turbo charged cars, where the higher octane rating is required due to the boost levels to prevent detonation. Hence running a boosted car on just 93, and the timing has to be pulled to prevent detonation problems. So choices are to run either E85, or to install a meth kit that will bump the octane rating of the fuel going into the motor during boost isntead. Of the two for a car that will be mostly a cruser, the meth kit is the better option. Hence still getting the addition 30% more gas mileage on petro for just driving around, and when you do go on boost, then meth mix is taking care of the problem. Also, using a local chemistry store and distilled water, you can make your own meth juice for $8 a gallon, and which will last you a few weeks on the road.
