Default Throttle Controller Choices

Looking to add a throttle controller to my car and hoping to get some feedback from current users.

I am aware of Vitesse for about $170, Pedal Commander for about $300 and Solar for about $100. All seem to have great reviews. Of the three there is quite a price spread. Is there really any noticeable difference in performance. I see Pedal Commander is Bluetooth capable but this is a feature I don't see myself using.

As it stands I am leaning towards the Solar product.

I'm running a Vitesse, but only because I picked it up used for $70. If I were buying new today it would be the Solar.

Once I learned the setting I liked I've never bothered to change it since. I certainly wouldn't pay extra for more whistles and bells. YMMV

I got the Pedal Commander and am happy with it as it works as advertised. However I don't think I need a controller with 36 different settings. It'd be great if the cable were long enough to be able to mount the control module under the console lid but I do like and use the Bluetooth app.

I have had the Vitesse on my car for 6 years. Worked good. Car did go into limp mode once about 2 years ago. Re-calibrated it. No issues since. Just pulled it off the car today(selling the car). I have heard excellent things about the Solar and you can’t beat their customer service.

I have also had the Vitesse for about 3 years. Same thing happened to me , threw a code. I did a re calibration and it's been good since. I also found a setting I like and set it and forget it. It's not something I play around with. I think I read you should recalibrate it every so often but I don't. I do love it.

I've had the Vitesse controller on for 3 years, set at the same setting at all time, and have had no issues, no limp mode, and have never recalibrated
the controller. I picked my unit up in the FS section of this forum.

Soler here, no issues and it a very nice improvement in throttle response off idle. Leave mine on setting 5 and it’s all I need. Installed it in about 1/2 hr. Best $100 I spent on the car in 14 years.

I had a Vitesse in my 13 GS since (almost) day one. It was flawless until this year, it kept throwing codes no matter how many times I calibrated it. If I do buy another throttle controller it would probably be the Soler, as IIRC the Pedal commander does not have a setting that is close to a 1:1 pedal/throttle ratio.

A followup to my post. Today was the first time I drove it on a nice trip (160 miles) since I removed it. What a difference, Mine was set on 6. The car is very sluggish now. Spongy throttle. I am spoiled! My next Vette will have one if needed.

I agree that 36 settings is a bit overkill and also wish the cable could make it under the center console. If I could get a do-over, I would go with the Soler.

Got the one that has a cable enough to go under the center console. Got in on it early when it was $75. I like the Soler doohicky.

I have the Vitesse. On two occasions the car's idle rpm would increase to 1100 from the normal 600. I removed the controller a few months ago and have not experienced this increased idle. We'll see how it goes. May reinstall in the future.

I bought and installed the Soler Throttle Controller for my '12 GS M6. It definitely wakes up the throttle response. The install was really easy. I put the controller inside the center console. So far, the heat hasn't killed it.

One thing that no one has mentioned is that it really kills MPG driving around the city. I like it best on the SP5 setting, but my mileage dropped from 19 to 15mpg! After a few tanks of gas, I've switched it over to CF5 for normal driving and now I'm back to 18mpg. This setting is not quite as responsive as SP, but it's better than OE. Overall, I am quite happy. Worth the $75 for sure.
