fitz, I am sure you have probably tried this...there is a vertical adjustment for the HUD. If you bumped the adjustment by accident, it could make the HUD "disappear". Check the adjustment first to be sure it has just not rolled too far down or up to be seen. I know, you probably did this, but nobody has responded, so thought I would. good luck.
Decided to add: Is there a reason you would go to a dealer for this? If you know of a good independent repair shop, they will probably give you a better rate, and get you taken care of quicker. The mechanic at the dealer is going to look at the same manual as the guy at the indie shop. Plus, he has probably been told to closely check your HB, shocks, plugs, etc. to see if there is not some way to get more $$$ out of your visit.
A good indie shop will be happy to see you, and will want you to come back.

So on my HUD I had the plastic gimbals that hold the mirror break. I had to simply add new gussets and screws and it was all good again. It took about a hour to get the HUD out of the car but that involved using a rope saw and cutting the duct that surrounds the HUD. To reinstall I used aluminum HVAC tape to seal the cut I did in the duct.
I suspect this repair for you would be best not taken to a dealer because they are not likely to fix a HUD vs charging to replace it.
Here is a link that shows what often happens to the hud
My suggestion is to try to fix this yourself . It is most likely the pivot points if the HUD mirrors have failed.
A dealer will want to order you a new one, remove the dash to remove the old HUD and install the new one.
The labor charge alone to do this will be astronomical.
Appreciate the feedback. It worked when I bought the car (05, sat in garage for several years). After a couple weeks, the screen went blank - solid green - then as I tried to play with the switches, pulled and reset fuses, it went out all together. So, it was a gradual fade away...then poof...gone! Thanks again for the advice.
I'm a tad gun shy when it comes to tearing apart a dash on a 15 year old car. It sat in a garage for several years. I bought it and drove if for 2 weeks and it worked fine. Then, the screen went solid green - then eventually it went out all together. Thanks again for the advice.
If it is indeed failed, then a new one can be purchased, or a used one, and it can be installed without taking out the dash.
There is a good you tube video showing how to do it. "How to replace the HUD in a C6 corvette" Is the title to search in you tube
since you are willing to repair or replace, that you actually use the HUD.
I've had my ride since jan / 2017. initially, using the HUD was interesting but, after a while, it started to get a
little gimicky. while it has always worked fine, i really don't use it that much. i really find the reflection in the windshield of the HUD
dash opening distracting too. for me, having the display only slightly above the analog gauges themselves, seems a bit redundant.
the only info offered beyond the standard gauges is the "G" reading.
to each their own, i could easily live without it.
