Control arm bushings will be shot, you wont notice it with the stock tires, but as soon as sticky tires go on, that is where the wore out bushing will show up. Hold on for a wild ride.

I personally dont like extreme low mileage cars like that. I like cars that were driven at least on a weekly basis.

Really depends on what you're looking for. Are you just going to store it and occasionally drive it, or do you plan on driving it more?
If the car was just stored and they never touched anything, there's plenty of parts that will still be affected by age (bushings and hoses) that you will need to go through.

Welcome to the forum. Although it is very low mileage, the first thing you need to do is ditch those new looking Goodyear tires. They are 13 years old, and have nothing left in them. They were a terrible tire to start with, so take that expense as a requirement.
All the fluids should be changed out, just so you have a fresh start.
As mentioned , check the condition of the bushings for control arms, shocks, and anything with rubber, although being stored in a control climate, they should be OK.
Being a Z06, it will likely have to have the heads done eventually. Check out the Z06 forum for more details.

If you do purchase this car, do an engine break in like it is a new car, because the previous owner most likely didn't do it.

Lastly, put some miles on that sucker.

It will likely be fine other than possibly the tires, which weren't very good to begin with. Whether or not you like to buy into internet spread panic is what will determine your risk level with the heads, there's no data supporting it as a common issue, just a lot of internet talk from people without first hand knowledge.

That said, I probably wouldn't buy it. I don't like fixed roof cars, and I find super low mile cars to be less conducive to driving and enjoying them. You always worry about what you're doing to the value of it.

Guess that depends on the price.

Heads fixed? As with most problems it's overblown, but you'd hate for it to happen to a car still in the teething stages yet too old to buy a GM service contract.

So the 5k mile 2011 Z07 my roommate purchased with the dry rotted original tires and dry rotted bushings are ok? once sticky tires were put on it became the scariest car I have ever driven because of a horrible rear steer problem. It was kept in a literal bubble in a climate controlled garage.

Make sure it has a clean title. Sometimes low mileage = rebuilt title.

For $10K, yes...for $100K, no. You did not include the price, so the question is pointless.

If the bushings were dry rotten that'd be very surprising. They're not like the rubber of yesteryear tires that would dry rot.

if the price is right, sure.

All fluids and tires will be a must, I wouldn't even hardly drive the car until those are done.

I drove mine home from New Jersey to Missouri on 11 year old original goodyear tires, the car had 11k miles at the time. 100 miles from home the right front started to vibrate pretty bad, tires are not something you risk when these cars can do what they can.

These cars are of the age that you HAVE to do things to them, or know the right stuff was done.

Yes, but pay the $39 for a Carfax. Then you can see where it was serviced, if at all, and go straight to the source for service information.

If you decide to buy it.....
Replace the tires. That adds about $1,000 at a minimum to what you are going to pay.
Change all of the fluids. If you are a DIYer, then you'll only pay for fluids. If not, a dealer will most likely charge you $1,000.
Have the heads repaired. That adds $2,500 to what you are going to pay. Some Z06 owners will tell you not to worry about it, but I had three different tuning shops tell me to pay them $2,500 now, or $25,000 when the heads crater the engine if I bought a C6 Z06.

Corvettes are a lot of fun, but they can be expensive to drive. The C6 is also quirky with electrical gremlins. I'm amazed at the number of electrical issues I've experienced in the year since I bought my 09.

Thanks for all of the input. I am passing on the vehicle. If anyone is interested it is located at Whitson Morgan Chevy dealership in Arkansas. Asking price $40.5K.
My next obsession is a '16-'17 Z51.
