Probably a weak battery? Any response will be a great help a serious response of course thanks in advance... also ..trunk and door switches doesn't work ..

My '05 is not letting me in, so I'm at the BCM or RDCLR level.

Going to do some more checks tomorrow. to narrow it down.

.
I might need to start a thread for specific help.

Well let's go step by step... It doesn't let you in but when you press unlock at the key fob it respond? It doesn't let you in when you try to open the door next to the car with the key fob in your pocket ? If you press unlock do the car open?

Nope.

No fob commands are recognized from outside the car. A couple of weeks ago the alternator went **** up. Replaced it, easy peasy. After that the door pads got touchy (not actually sure, as neither of us drive her very often now, so not sure when this really started ). and only intermittently allowed ingress. The car starts just fine. This happened with no other interference in a couple of geographic areas.

Today, replaced fob batteries, no luck ( I already knew this was not the issue). The door pad still illuminates the "door locked" long light, so I am leaning towards the RCDLR as the culprit.

So now I am not sure I need to really do any more testing, but tomorrow I will disconnect the battery to see if that helps, on the off chance), but the question is do I replace it myself (and have to buy a tech II) or take it in? How hard is it? I've taken the center radio surround off a bunch of times, but how hard is it to actually remove and replace the module? And then reprogram the fobs?

Is the Tech II needed just to reprogram the fobs or can you do it with the long program? Is the tech II to sync it to the car.

I've been in search mode all day, but haven't been able to answer these questions.

Stopppppp right there freeze lol ... If you want and have the money for a tech 2 go ahead that's a midas tool ...but have you tried cleaning the door switches? I will start there ...clean the door switches...try if that works...second step and why not cause it works 80% of the time...remove the battery at least 10 minutes.. if it doesn't work ... Open the key fob ...the fob battery makes contact with a tiny metal with 4 little pins ... squeeze those 4 pins to make them come up a lil bit... Spray some electronic cleaner inside the key fob and reassemble... If these doesn't work disconnect the key fob receiver which is located behind the radio ..(have to remove the radio bezel) spray also the electronic cleaner and plug back... Brother these cars are reliable as hell but when they have a simple issue they drive us crazy .. sometimes just a dirty connector beings some codes to the scanner

It's not the door pads. The car won't accept any commands from the fob itself. No lock, unlock or trunk pop. No flash, honk or alarm.
