C6 2005 electrical issues
No fob commands are recognized from outside the car. A couple of weeks ago the alternator went **** up. Replaced it, easy peasy. After that the door pads got touchy (not actually sure, as neither of us drive her very often now, so not sure when this really started ). and only intermittently allowed ingress. The car starts just fine. This happened with no other interference in a couple of geographic areas.
Today, replaced fob batteries, no luck ( I already knew this was not the issue). The door pad still illuminates the "door locked" long light, so I am leaning towards the RCDLR as the culprit.
So now I am not sure I need to really do any more testing, but tomorrow I will disconnect the battery to see if that helps, on the off chance), but the question is do I replace it myself (and have to buy a tech II) or take it in? How hard is it? I've taken the center radio surround off a bunch of times, but how hard is it to actually remove and replace the module? And then reprogram the fobs?
Is the Tech II needed just to reprogram the fobs or can you do it with the long program? Is the tech II to sync it to the car.
I've been in search mode all day, but haven't been able to answer these questions.
