Looks like winter will be here soon. It's time to put the Vette in storage. It is so depressing to have to put it away for such a long time but there is nothing I can do about it if I want to keep it in nice condition. It's not the snow it's the SALT! I put it in a facility that is heated and has power for a battery tender. Somewhat pricey but worth it I guess.

It is tough to experience Vette withdrawal, and I had to do the same winter storage routine while living in Maine. I looked forward to a break in the weather, when the roads were dry and potholes at a minimum. When the opportunity, weather-wise, presented itself I would grab the keys and out-the-door to the garage, where the Corvette was awakened from its winter slumber. Off with the cover and a quick disconnect of the battery tender was followed up with a turn of the key (C5 Z06), and fingers crossed for a start with no DIC messages or other warnings. The temperature was often below freezing, but inside the Corvette was warm and cozy once warmed up and ready to roll. A short drive around town with a short sprint down I-95 was enough therapy to keep the anxieties at bay until the next time.
I had the pleasure of having a company apartment in Del Mar, CA for 4 years and enjoyed having the top down almost year around. Now back in Missouri year around and have the GS in the garage for (most) of fall/winter. But I also have a 2017 F-150 Supercrew w/ the 5.0 Coyote. Tuned, leveled, and Raptor wheels/tires w/ the 35" BFG K02's. I'll enjoy winter for the most part!
I grew up in Phoenix .... Cortez High School ... Class of 66 . .
Boy you are old. I grew up in La Mesa, California, also class of 66. When we were seniors we wore little buttons that said seniors recognize 69. (Class of incoming freshman). I think that is what it meant.
