To recap, had a complete brake job done on 2005 stock c6 62xxx mi , rotors and pads and new fluid. After I was getting the service ABS now, Service active handling and traction control. Codes were 710 and 055 I believe indicating issues with rt rear wheel speed sensor or plugs or cables. In the interim I have had all TPMS replaced as 2 had failed and all were 15 years old. Believe it or not no messages since.
However yesterday I was exiting my driveway and both rear wheels locked up, I was not even touching the brake pedal. stopped and tried again and locked up again in 20 yards or so. Managed to return to driveway. Parked and tried again later and did not lock up.
Not sure where to look next, dealer is less than enthusiastic about accepting any responsibility.
I have had the wheel sensor plugs reseated and inspected during the TPMS replacement. Since then no repeat of the rotating messages. This is a new issue with the rear brakes locking up. I drove it today and no issues but I stayed close to home just in case. I was wondering if there was anything about a full brake job that could cause the brake lock ups. BTW I had just washed the car including wheels right before this happened but that seems to be a stretch. Also I am fairly sure I was not even touching the brake pedal when the lock ups happened.
How many enthusiastic days and miles has it been since the dealer did this work?
What happened when you took the car back to them at the sign of the first problem?
Did you ask them to fix it, or tell them to fix it? There is a difference.
I was probably too nice about it but they have treated me well in the past so there you go. They agreed that anytime I received the repeating messages I should call and stop by without turning the car off, apparently it clears the messages when you restart the car. Which I did take it back once but that problem has not resurfaced in over a week.
Approx miles since brakes is only about 200.
Again ,have the dealer pull the history codes with Tech2win. Any DTC that popped up in the DTC or set off a dash light, even though the DTC may clear if not a problem on the next start up, the DTC is still store the code in history for up to 50 starts ups.
So the only thing that comes to mind, is they are not using Tech2win with a MDI, but some off shop using a basic type scanner isntead to check for codes
Hence basic scanner does not pull history code, but only active codes instead.
