I haven't noticed any increase in road noise.

Ordered my C6 16 years ago with only the transparent top. Never had an issue with it and the visibility through it is great. A/C does a great job too. A new one today would be the same for me.

i run the transparent top about about 98% of the year. only on the days over 105°+ will i run the painted top.
even with the a/c on full and with me running hot as well, the California sun always wins.
i believe that the solid top does offer a bit quieter ride. whether it's because it rarely gets ( seals in better condition ) or,
it's more solid in construction, i don't know. i'm thinking about wrapping the solid top. maybe going with a carbon fiber look.
or not.

The A/C in a C6 is over-engineered to cool the small interior space very quickly. GM engineers knew the transparent top would require it and did a great job making sure it was not an issue.

i would agree about the A/C abilities, it can only do so much. it can't stop the heat from coming through the top. you have a small volume of cold air, fighting against
all of the outside air. and i mentioned earlier, running a little hot myself, doesn't help either. when i reach the point when the A/C maxes, then i switch tops.

What about road noise? Any difference between the painted top that has a liner and the transparent one without the liner?
Transparent top is louder for sure. Doesn't really bother me. I remove the transparent top in the summer. Too hot having the sun beating down on my head. The a/c cannot do anything about that.

For the racers, the transparent top is a few pounds lighter too

I have both tops and will be wrapping the solid top as well.
