Hey all,
I recently installed a new battery and now one of the TPMS is reading 0. No lights come to tell me. Just thought I'd look to see. Do I have to redo all the TPMS or is it a bad one?
Paul
When I had a zero reading I just let most of the air out of the tire and then refilled it. Drove around for a few minutes and it was back to normal again.

Did you ever replace the TPM's Paul? IIRC life on those things is 7-10 years...
The batteries on the TPS seem to be good for about eight to ten years in most cases. Discount Tire can replace the sensors for about $30 each plus labor which run about $40.00. When replacing tires is a good time to change the sensors and save the $40 labor.

The only thing you need to do after a battery replacement is index the windows. So the TPMS problem is completely unrelated. However, TPMS sensors have batteries too so they do need to be replaced occasionally. Most people get at least 10 years, some proactively replace them after ~7. I've had them work for more than 13 years. The hard core will dig out the encapsulated batteries and replace them, too much work for me.
Try letting the air out like Rich28 suggested. I even removed the core with a jack taking the weight of the vehicle. Reinstalled the core and aired it up. Drove around a few miles and all was well.
Good luck.
One of our monitors acted up on a trip. Pulled over. Slight jab on valve stem core with finger nail and all good. Probably some smutz on sensor. Enjoy your ride!
Update...
Got in the car yesterday morning for my usual Sunday morning drive to my buddy's car wash. Started it up and checked the tire pressure... all are good! No problems or issues! Whew! Rechecked on way there and on way home. These cars are AWESOME!!!!!
