Pretty sure I broke my rad support. Haven’t got under it, or had it up in the air yet to verify that’s what it is but it’s riding quite lower in the front and it dropped so my S/C intake hose was pulled away from the IC. I was able to reinstall that.
Right now I’m pricing new supports and came across the Crane version which looks quite stout and well made. Has anyone used this unit and what do you think of it?
There are several threads mentioning this radiator support, but I cannot recall anyone giving their opinion installing one, so I would also be interested to hear. Having said that, if you are in need of this part the Cranes price is right, so I say go for it and please report back on ease of installation & fit.
I bought one back in November. My son had also bought one for his Z06.
So far it is doing well. It is a whole lot beefier than the OEM. Install is straight forward.
It has all the holes and mounting brackets already there.
Has a good powder coating on it.
I am very happy with this purchase.
Goes on quite easily, of course I had my son helping and since he already had done one, he knew the short cuts.
Cars in hibernation right now so next week I’ll get it out and see what it needs and most likely get the crane. I’ll update if that’s the way it plays out.
Anyone else try one of the Cranes units? I’m likely going to my shop today to get it up on a lift to see what the damage is and would like to have more input before buying, thanks.
