1. 2006 Z06 H/C/I 90,000 miles; $28000
2. 2008 Base model completely stock; 22,000 original Miles, $22000.
I currently have a C5. Looking to move up to a C6 and the above 2 opportunities have popped up locally. Are these good prices, Opinions on the 2?
The Z06 has everything I already want done to the car, but I’m slightly worried about the high miles.
Any opinions from higher mileage Z06 owners?
Perhaps neither.... why settle for a "local" supply?
Do both cars tick all the "required" boxes or are you compromising on a few items in each option?
Unfortunately many people are cutting back and scaling down, I personally know three people within the local club that has to put their car up for sale,
There is still a vey good supply of used C6's available, perhaps expanding your search will provide more favorable opportunities where you don't have to compromise.

Thanks for the feedback. This choice isn’t about “settling” for one of these. These cars happen to of been “vetted” (pun intended) and now deciding on the two. I’m not looking for anything specific, just a C6 that’s a good deal that I won’t lose a ton of money on when reselling in a year or 2. Technically both these cars tick all the boxes I want.
Also on a side note, I’m not asking anyone to choose for me. I’m asking for constructive feedback/ possible regrets from the people who own or have owned both versions of these cars.
Anyone getting butthurt by my comments have clearly never owned an H/C/I Z06.
I don't get butthurt over any comments about my base 09 Z51 M6 with the build I have from Vengeance Racing. I sold a 15 C7 Z51 A8 to buy it and keep money in the bank after the build. Checked that box.
The C7 got more compliments than my C6, and if I had your ZR1 I probably would get a lot more compliments too - beautiful car by the way. But what I do have is money in the bank and a car that looks stock until I start it up. Yes - I know it will depreciate faster than yours, but I don't care. I'm at the age where I'm content to leave my wife, daughter, and granddaughter with "things" vs money. My next automotive toy will be a C8.
I used to own one with an A6, so I know what I'm talking about. Jealous much?
Jealous of someone who puts down other vehicles? LMAO. Implying I am jealous of you further elevates your ego, and proves my point. Your need to convey to us commoners that our base C6's are "lethargic grocery-getters" is NOTHING but ego, and it is pathetic that you cannot see it.

Op I would grab that base due to the lower miles. I suppose hp is nice for bragging rights if a person is in to that kind of thing but 430 is probably more than you will encounter driving around most of the time and you can't really use it all anyway unless you have an affinity for tickets and court dates. Good luck.

Hell, my Acadia has over 300 HP. 430 is entry level these days.
As I said, more hp wanted for bragging rights. Your 300 hp Acadia can do everything needed for driving down the public roadways as good as or better than your ZR1.
Hahaha... you drive an Acadia?!? Isn't that just the modern day equivalent of a mini van? My mom drives an Acadia and thinks its great, but she is 78 years old.
OP I highly suggest thoroughly inspecting them both in person, inside and out, and also driving them if possible. Ask questions about the history of the car. Then go with your gut. If they’ve both been maintained well then you shouldn’t have a problem either way, mechanically, or with resale later on. If you maintain it well, if you’re patient, there will always be the right buyer for you when you’re ready.. especially for a c6z.
I was in the market for a 08+ 40-60k mile Z06 recently when I came across a local 09 h/c z06 for sale with 73k miles. Decided to go take a look and it was actually one of the cleanest 09’s inside and out I’d seen in a LONG time. VERY well maintained, recent valve spring change, and clean bill of health. Looks like it has about 20k miles on it. Needless to say, I pulled the trigger and have no regrets thus far.
I’ve had a base ls3 c6, z51 c7, and c7 GS for a brief period... and let me say this car is a different animal!!! Don’t discount it just bc of the miles, take into account all of the variables and try to enjoy what you decide on. GL
Exactly. H/c = aftermarket heads and cam. Just like FBO = full bolt-on.
Buckmeister it’s pretty common when “addressing” the heads/valve issue on the ls7 to add an aftermarket cam at the same time while the heads are off for additional power. Mine had a stage 2 BTR cam installed while the heads were being addressed, perfect mix of a nice chop but still drives stock

The two cars you mentioned are both vets but that's about where similarities end, I think you need to step back and decide what you want/need first then don't settle for less, otherwise you will regret it.
I would buy the base car, 22k is a good price & the car has low miles too. I see that the car has Morimoto headlights & recovered seats also...the LS3 is a bullet proof engine & does well with mods
