Rebuilt or salvage titles are the devil. Run away.

Default 2013 GS Salvage Smiles

Got mine at auction for a mint, less than the cost of any new piece of junk off the showroom floor today. Performed minor repairs and now I drive it daily. Even have it insured for comprehensive. Get it for a good deal and you’ll never look back.

Sorry, but couldn't disagree with this blanket statement more...as Irving just demonstrated.

I saw this 2012 at a corvette show a couple of years ago, and I was baffled, because I had bought the identical car (2012 Supersonic Blue auto coupe) with more miles for a lot more money. The guy had other cars for sale that were extremely bargain priced. The seller pulled me aside and told me they were all flood damaged cars. Total crapshoot. They were dried out and looked good. They could drive fine forever or they could short out in 2 days. If you understand the risk, fine. Not worth it for me.

Default Salvage Title

So yes; flood cars are different. But from auction you can get a flood car for maybe 9-11k. A 6.2 sells for around 6200 sitting there by itself. At minimum a swap is easy. Everything is a risk reward. 60k or 20k it’s still a risk regardless. Mine was an accident. Minor dents and scratches. Some people want to buy new or like new... understood. Buy at your own risk; either way.

Hell, lad here picked up a C7 flood car, spent the last 2 years rebuilding it to rebuilt tittle, and still fighting GM on getting the Factory security code for the last of the needed module flashes/VIC file to be written for the dealer to correct the mileage on the IPC.
Hence on the C7's, GM added in a security code number that you need to input during SPS flashing of some modules on the car.
The code is on the original invoice that he does not have, and since it became a salvage title, GM will not do a lock-up/release the number to him.
So now that the car does have a rebuilt title, game plan is to take the car to a dealer to do the VIC flash on the IPC/ get GM to change the car to a Rebuilt title so a security number look up can be done by the dealer, and so he can get his hands on the needed security code number for the car to flash the last of the modules.
Note: Think like the key number for car vin when you have a key cut, but a different number for the vin's security code for SPS flashing on the C7's isntead.

As for the C8's with Global B protocol and OTA, can only imagine what kind of Gluttony/ Third Circle of Hell that one is going to go through to firmware flash modules when someone does buy a savage titled car. The C8 does show up in the latest GDS2 and SPS so that's not the problem, but the security code that you may not be able to get with a savage title car from GM (like the C7), much less bet more hoops to jump through with GM as well.

i have the same problem need bcm programmed but can’t get the codes from Gm. If anyone has dealt with this issue can you help me or tell what should I do

If SPS is requiring the security code number for firmware flash (C7 up), and you have no way of getting it off the original invoice that the first dealer got with the car new, your pretty much screwed. Dale has been playing the same game on trying to get his replacement C7 IPC firmware flashed to display actual miles on his rebuilt car for years now, and GM will not even release the cars vin security number to the dealers to flash it.

About the only way I know to get the code now, is to do module data dump that requires the number in the first place to flash on one of the modules that is working, and try to find it that way instead (Maybe PonyProg to do a hex data dump, and start going through the data to find the 5 digit security code number that way).
