Default Powertrain Removal - help!

Hi all, I will be tackling a complete swap in the coming weeks and struggling to find a good forum/ video that takes me step by step of the removal process. I drive a 2007 c6 z06, and will be swapping motors along with clutch. Does anyone have a step by step guide of what needs to be removed/ unclipped in order to lift the body off the powertrain? Looking for any knowledge if anyone has done it. What lines? What harnesses? What suspension bolts? Etc.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Any reason you wanna drop the bottom? I swapped mine from the top and I don't see how dropping it would make anything easier. The way I did it, there really wasn't a step by step needed. If it's connected, disconnect it and label. If it's in the way, remove it. There cars are really simple. I had to take out the radiator and lower the front subframe by a couple inches, but aside from that it was just disconnecting stuff.

I was going to drop from the bottom because I have access to a lift, and also because I need to drop the rear to change my clutch so I figured I'd drop it all together torque tube and everything and then just lift the body up.

I have never dropped the entire drive train from my car but I have done a clutch replacement twice in which you drop everything behind the engine. So I would look up guides for clutch swaps to see what needs to be disconnected. You would need to change things a bit from a clutch swap. But the main things to disconnect would be the rear cradle bolts, suspension arms, brake lines, clutch line, shifter, and the exhaust at the rear hangers.

As for the front of the car, I would think you would need disconnect the 4 main cradle bolts holding the cradle to the frame. You would need to disconnect the cooling hoses and any oil lines going to the radiator or oil coolers. You would also need to disconnect the front control arms at the connection to the frame. Disconnect the fuel line at the firewall. For the Z06 dry sump, you would need to disconnect the oil lines and PCV lines going to the dry sump tank.

There are a few ground points that connect the engine block in the front.

I am going by just what I can see in my brain but that should be the majority of things to disconnect.

Obviously this is not a how too but it should be relatively easy especially if you have a lift.

If your just changing clutch, it will be assessable when you pull engine. It’s bolted to the flywheel at back of engine. They pretty much covered pulling the drivetrain above but a few things I can add, shifter will need to be removed, brake lines at the master, steering shaft, power steering lines and a couple of wiring harnesses on right side of firewall.

Awesome, I appreciate this message. As for the brake lines, clutch line, oil lines to coolers and pcv line at the dry sump, are there special tools required for removal? I've never had to remove any of these lines before. Thanks!
