Hey guys. I am finishing up installing a new Pioneer 4660 NEX radio and was wondering how many of you use the HDMI port on your new radio? I have searched around and do not see any discussions on this feature. I was wanting to know how many are using it and what exactly are you using it for? I assume it is for watching streaming movies or TV from a smart phone? I am trying to decide if I am going to run a HDMI cable to my center console and use this HDMI cable for anything. Thanks!

Is it an hdmi out for feeding rear screens, or an hdmi in?
Either way, I never use any of the video features of my screens. I'd be Far more likely to use a video out to rear screens than a video in.

HDMI out is for a monitor screen. So either ones in the back of a car seat for the kids to watch in say the case of a mini van, or if you want to play ricer, then 49" screen in the back of the car to play video game on through the headset.
I believe with the right cable and software, you can stream video from your phone/iPad to head unit screen. I ordered the interface cable and 30 pin to lightning when going through my last round of audio upgrades but when it didn’t work as plug and play, I don’t chase things much further.. other projects are pulling my focus right now.. I’ll come back around to this one though, I’m sure. In the mean time, I can just slip in a DVD if I really want to watch something on the screen.. JR
