Somebody a couple posts ago said to go with LG, they “aren’t that much more”.
Well yes they are and out of the question.
On my previous GS I paid $1,379 shipped from a forum vendor for a set of LG 1-3/4” long tubes with high flow cats. Directly from LG, they said the 1-3/4 were plenty sufficient up to about 550 hp so no need to go with the 1-7/8 unless you’re planning more power down the road. With a tune the car gained about 35 whp, similar to what many see with 1-7/8” headers.
$1,379 is much much cheaper than the $2,000 for Kooks or ARH if you’re on a budget. Or you could just save up to get quality parts? I never quiet understand the “I don’t have the $ for x parts, what are cheaper ones” - could you not just save the $ you would dump now on cheap parts and save up more $ to add to it & get better parts?
Thinking about it, if you’re considering Speed Engineering, a warranty obviously isn’t a concern for you. Start looking for a used set. Buy some high flow cats & have a muffler shop fab them into an x-pipe
or these appear to come with cats. https://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Exhaust....m46890.l49292

Good luck with your decision.
Any 1 3/4 header can make plenty of power, but even on a cam only car they will definitely make less power up top than a 1 7/8” primary.
Thanks for all the answers people! Appreciate it but being up in Canada all your recommendations would be way too much money. Bordering on about $3k for a set of headers and cats isn’t able to happen with me unfortunately.
Weird how one set of headers fits like a glove on most cars but some say they won’t fit and went to another brand etc. You would think that a company bends them all the same to fit our cars which are all the same.
Hey bro, running into the same problem as you. Im in toronto and everything is so expensive. What did you go with and where did you get it?

X2 from Calgary - curious if a decent Canadian header supplier/ price has been found by anyone. I don't want crap, but I don't want to spend $4.5K just for the headers uninstalled either.

Ditto, also in Calgary. Richter performance in Lethbridge has the Speed Engineering Headers and Xpipe. We'd save lots on Duties and custom fees. I'm currently trying to buy them but it says they won't ship to my address. However, I called them and they said the site has been having issues lately but they ship all across Canada.

Perhaps. Opted for 1 3/4” after reading threads like below while researching. Can say picked up a lot of torque throughout the RPM range w/ LG 1 3/4” and FAST on LS2. 56 WHP / 60 WTQ. The latter has proven more useful for mountain road adventuring. Good tires w/ great torque coming out of corners is hard to beat.

yea they are by far the cheapest option. Are you going to purchase from them?
What you do is find a friend that lives in the US near the border, and ship there. The. Bring cross the border.
I have shipped plenty of things to Canadians that use that loophole with success
