Power top problems
Ok so this is my 3rd corvette. I had an 82, then a 96 and now a 05 convertible. Loved my passed ones still getting to know this one. Just put on that dreaded harmonic balancer. Love the handling and performance. Problem with the top is that it’s a 50/50 chance if it’s going to work properly. Sometimes half way up it stops and gets stuck and a pain getting it open. Sometimes if I play with the rocker switch on the dash I can keep it going otherwise it’s a real pain. Is this one of those harmonic type things or just me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sounds as though you might have a bad switch. Since you have to hold it down during the entire up/down cycle, and since it will complete the cycle by manipulating the rocker switch, that would be where I would start the diagnosis. Simplest things first.
