Default Spacers needed?? Weld wheels help

So I got a good deal on some s76 welds 17x6 . Going to use them on the front . The backspace is 3.5” . My question is will a 3” spacer work to run them on the front? And if so what else is needed if anything aside from the spacer? Thanks (2012 C6 base )

They will be out too far as it is, why would you need a 3” spacer?

isn’t the standard front 6.45”? I thought since the rim I have is 3.5” back space adding a 3” spacer would equal 6.5” . I don’t really know much about wheels so I’m probably wrong? Lol

Oh wait 6.46” with a 17x8.5 wheel . 17x6 with a 3.5 backspace would then stick out a little is what you were saying?

With adapters that thick, you will probably need to get longer studs as well.

This a a chart from Doug Rippie Motorsports. A great source for spacers/adapters and studs/etc.

I should also add that in IMO you should get specific/custom adapters, not a generic version with extra holes for different lug-bolt patterns.

And, a great source for that is motorsport-tech.com.

Both of these companies have great customer service and are highly recommended.

Strip car that is just going straight, may get away with the spacers that thick, but car that is going to see cornering forces, to much cantilever distance off wheel hub surface, and going to wear wheel hubs out quickly instead.
