Default WindRestrictor

Hello all,
Who has a "WindRestrictor"? Thinking of one for my 2010 GS.
Any ideas, thoughts or regrets. Is it worth it for the cost?
Thanks, Kliph

I have no idea how much they'd help in a coupe but I did install one in my GS 'vert and to me it was worth the money. Once I read through the instructions twice the install was pretty straightforward. It does help quite a bit at highway speeds.....unless you start edging up to 75+....not that I'd ever do that mind you.

I really like mine, roll up the windows and you have useable heat or a/c, you can have a conversation or hear the tunes, cuts the noise and wind buck easily in half. Windows down it still makes a decent difference.
light kit is just a led strip shining into the lower center edge and contained inside of a black channel. Would be easy to improvise and save some money. The black channel they provide though is nice with corvette laser engraved into it.

Got one in my 05 vert, good up to about 75 as mentioned above. Are you going to put it in a coupe ? If so, I can't help you there as far as how well it works in a coupe.

I don't know how useful they would be in a coupe, but I love it in my soft-top. I think that it looks great and work pretty good. I probably get more people asking me about that than anything else on my car (which granted, isn't much lol). Here is a really crappy picture of mine.

I've got one in my vert as well and fully agree with VelocityGs on how it helps. I enjoy having the windows down myself but my spouse asks for the windows up so her hair isn't blowing in her face all the time. She doesn't like hats or wearing a ponytail so its a small concession when she's along. I did custom images for mine without lighting.

For a coupe, try this one. It kicks the air stream up a bit. Especially effective with windows up on the highway. Only $65 on EBay.

I like mine a lot, I put the windows up about 4" and with the restrictor it has cut down on noise and buffeting by at least 50%. Even at 75+
And you don't have to remove it to put the top up on a Convertible.

Default Works well for me!

After we got our '07 Vert... when driving with the top down, my wife's long hair was wildly flying about.. even when wearing a cap. After install, she can wear a cap and not have the same issue.. and we can carry-on a conversation without shouting even at highway speeds.

IMO, well worth the $$.

They mount to the bulkhead/area where the vert top frame anchors with brackets and bolts.

I should have mentioned I have a coupe. Maybe no advantage for a coupe.
Also maybe a disadvantage of not being to reach into the back from the driver seat.
I will have to look into it.
Anyone use this with a coupe?
Thanks, Kliph

A "WindRestrictor" from https://windrestrictor.com/ was my FIRST aftermarket purchase for my 2013 427, love the look at night (mine has the red glow light) and yes it works!
A friend just added one to his 2010 GS, looks very nice!

I’ll add this for night use, with red lighting and the auto darkening mirror I really don’t see it in my mirror. I’ve put multi color leds on it and most other colors are far beyond distracting.

70 mph, top down, wind restrictor installed, how much does it really help.

Personally, I don't care about lights or top down, windows up...

Thanks.

As mentioned in my earlier post... it helps quite a bit in our case. Obviously @ 70 mph, it will be a little tougher than 45 - 60, but w/o the restrictor, it was very hard on my wife's hair -- or keep a baseball cap on my head (I'm taller) -- and trying to carry-on a conversation or listen to music. IMO, it's worth the cost. If there is any downside, above 35 mph, if one opens the tunnel compartment cover and there's any paper or lightweight stuff sitting in the compartment... it WILL go flying as the shape of the central section does funnel air flow down to the rear of the compartment.
