Default New tool

A procedure to repair an abdominal aortic aneurism in Oct 2019 and a total knee replacement in Aug 2020 has left me without as much energy as I used to have. Being 81 might be a factor also.

I have been procrastinating when it comes to removing my wheels to clean the barrels until now. I found this tool that allows me to r & r my wheels without my legs under the car and then put them back on without getting fingerprints on the clean wheels. It also saves my back. I'm only posting this in case some of you old guys might be interested.

Here's another fancy schmancy rig for changing wheels

Made this up out of a motorcycle lift and some conveyor rollers.

Absolutely unnecessary for swapping wheels, but it sure makes the job easier and no scraping the barrels on the calipers drama.

Nice, I might have to get one for my heavy truck tires, I just can't lift them like I used to.

Their dolly's are for trucks, including this one. This has adjustable arms that works on the Corvette..

Cool. I suppose once you start removing the wheel and tire from the car, one of your hands has to hold onto the wheel & tire to prevent it from falling off of the wheel dolly. But the yellow handle seems pretty far back to hold on the yellow handle and still hold the tire/wheel unless you have 8-foot wingspan.

The arms that the tire sets on are also rollers. It makes it easy to line up the studs with the holes in the wheel. I don't use it to take them off, just to put them back on. It's simple to hold the wheel with one hand and start a couple lug nuts. 8' wing span not necessary.

Good info. A wheel dolly designed to raise the car to roll it around the shop might be able to be repurposed as a wheel installer.

This one would grab the tire and lift the car, then just position a floor jack before removing the wheel.

Would get it if I removed wheels more often. Only $125 for an open-box Amazon.

Fancy-schmancy devise, just use a long pry bar under the center of wheel.

Looks like a cool device. I don't need one for my corvette but for my Pickup I just use another floor jack under the tire to lift it.

That is exactly what I used to do. Since my total knee replacement was less than 8 months ago I was reluctant to do it that way. I couldn't take looking at the brake dust on my gloss black wheels any longer so I spent the money on this. I'll clean them more often now.
Just wish I had chosen satin black instead.

Not on my attached garage floor, or detached garage floor, where the Corvette parks.
