Carvana trade in is a good start. It's worth a few grand more than that in most cases.

Certain rare cars may be worth a good bit more than they offer though.

Prices are UP!

I'm considering selling my F-150 4x4 since prices are super high on those also. I agree with getting a quote from Carvana. Super easy and that's your low end starting point.

Personally, I'd list for 6k over carvana trade in, and take no less than 3k over carvana. Not worth the hassle of dealing with people for less than that IMO. I know a lot of people won't agree with it, but to me, my time is worth enough to not have to deal with joyriders, tire kickers, and the whole hassle of a private party sale.

Another vote for Carvana.

They offered me 2k more than I paid for my 2020 Silverado so I sold to them. Out of curiosity, I plugged my GS in yesterday and it's 3k more than I paid for it. After all my mods, I could break even selling to them. I don't think I will... unless the offer goes higher. Then I may be tempted.

Something to consider is if you're going to replace it. Selling prices are up because buying prices are also up. So while you will make good money selling almost anything right now, it will also cost you more than normal to get into a different car.

Yeah I had 44 in my 6.2 RST and they offered me 46. With rising gas prices, I just couldn't justify it to myself anymore since my office moved and more than quadrupled my commute. Traded to an Audi A4 with 34mpg and my wallet loves me haha. I'll may go back to a truck eventually once my next raise kicks in.

I ran my CE thru the carvana website out of curiosity last week. Got an offer of $33k and saw one just like mine today for sale on carvana for $37.5k. Sounds like a reasonable offer/sale difference considering how the system works. Only difference between the vehicles is mine is 4LT with a little more mileage and the one for sale was 3LT.

I don't think I would sell mine private party for 4500 over carvana trade in. Not worth the hassle of dealing with people.

Ran my car through Carvana for the hell of it. 2010 coupe, A6, 38,000 miles, mag ride, stock, clean. $20,153. NADA came back with $20,137 for a clean trade-in with suggested retail price of $24,037. In today's market I think it's worth more but I'm not looking to sell.

Mike, something must have gone wrong. Possibly you put in the wrong info. $20K is what a base 2005 with 60,000 miles is worth now. I am pretty sure Carvana would have priced it at around $27K. You might want to try it again.

I agree, I expected $25k+. Tried it twice, the second time I used my actual VIN. All info came up correctly on their site.

I bought my car in early March and Carvana will give me $300 more than I paid for it, so I think prices are still going up.
