oil pump replacement cost ??
I was reading another thread where their pump went out. Got me thinking since I have a boosted LS2 with 108k miles, that I may be on borrowed time. Anyone know the average cost of hiring a mechanic to do a replacement? I know a lot of the cost would be varying by region but just a general idea. Also, if I go that route, would it be prudent to go ahead and replace the timing chain?

And if your going to replace the oil pump, or even the harmonic balancer ... you might as well replace the camshaft too while your at it.
And if you are going to pay a shop to have this done ... the harmonic balancer change, or the oil pump change, or the camshaft charge should all be within a few dollars labor of each other.
Do um all at once !

The balancer was changed when the SC was added. Running an ATI. Not sure about changing out the camshaft since it has a supercharger. Was probably going to do just some wear items. pump, timing gear set, new serpentine belt.
