First let me THANK any assistance up front !!! I have 2005 A4 Convertible , had center Bezel out replacing a shift cable just because I didn’t know how old it was in and didn’t want to get left stranded .
As soon as I removed the bezel I noticed a white square plug male w/6 or 8 wires just laying near the tombstone??? The air bag light is plugged in , the aux cigarette lighter is plugged along with the heated seats are plugged in , it has to be with in 6 “ of the tombstone for it to reach anything ???
I completed the cable buttoned it all up , no code lights on??? Car has the soft ride suspension so no magnetic ride!!! Do you think GM just used same harness across the board and left a dead plug because my car doesn’t have the ride select ??? Again thank you for any and all information

Appreciate the help ! You would have thought that they would have at least capped off the plugs that the car did not have options! 🍀
One would think, but GM removed the under hood light in 2007, but left the plug there next to the radiator. Same deal, many questions in this forum about that plug when it is discovered.

So does that mean we can add a light there using that plug? That is something I wish I had. All cars should have an under hood light IMHO.

There have been prior threads here in the past about whether or not you could use that plug, but I didn't look at them closely enough to see whether or not the owner could use the plug.
GM removed the light in mid-year 2007 when too many new cars were getting to the dealers with that light left on, resulting in a dead car battery.
