Default Need a new LS7 block?

Hello

13k miles upgraded heads cam. Lifter cylinder 8 died took out the cam and chewed up the lifter bore.

im not sure what my options are. Already bought a new cam package and lifters.

can the lifter bore be sleeved? Should i buy a short block and slap my current heads on it?

where should i buy a short block from i see a lot of differences in price.

any help would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to get my car back on the road before fall.

There's probably metal everywhere so you're already on the hook for a full bottom-end rebuild if you haven't factored that in.

yea it’s posible.

the shop thinks they can resleeve it. I’d rather buy a new short block but i can’t find one anywhere for sale. Everything is back ordered till September.

I'd ask the shop what they think about flushing out the entire lower end and the possibility of metal in the bearing caps. Guess if they're confident they can clean it up and sleeve it I'd go for it. Probably a whole lot less $$ than a new short block or bare block for that matter. If you trust the shop go with their opinion. If you're skeptical get on a wait list for a block!!
