Just ordered a Kenwood DMH2660NEX from Crutchfield (yes, they actually got some in!) Didn't order a back up camera from them as they're pretty spendy. What have you used and are happy with? Are most of them plug and play as long as the radio has an input?? Thanks!!

I have a Pioneer system in mine, and I use the Pioneer cameras. I suggest you don't cheap out to much, I believe in the old saying "you get what you pay for". Also, I'd suggest posting this question in the Audio/Electronics section of this forum, you might get more responses there. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...lectronics-20/ They're all pretty much plug and play however you have to connect some wiring, the positive (+) wire (which I personally connected to the switched power (+) of the interface on the wiring between the interface and head unit ) , and the ground (-) wire that I also connected to the negative wire of the interface as the Pioneers have enough wire to run all the way from the back to the head unit, then you also have the video out RCA cable that plugs into the Video Input of the Kenwood. Others have connected the + and - wires to the reverse light power at the reverse lights themselves and a ground at the back of the car, either way will work, it's just up to you to decide on how you want to do it. Then there may be settings on the Kenwood you have to set to where the camera will be activated when the car is put in reverse, but I'm not positive about that with the Kenwood, I know there is for my Pioneer. For the wire routing of the camera wires, there's a grommet you can easily access by removing the inner right tail light that's a good spot to feed the camera wiring though that you can see shown in this photo (yellow arrow). Then I ran the wiring under the carpet, to the center console, then under the center console to the head unit.
This shows where I mounted my camera.
I also installed a front camera on my car which comes in handy when pulling up to parking blocks so you don't get to close and damage your front end. My Pioneer has the capability for multiple cameras for this purpose, don't know if your Kenwood does however. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I bought an inexpensive one from Bestbuy and was quite surprised by the quality of its picture. With the cameras they make nowadays I think it would be difficult to find a dog.
Natika front & rear -$30 on Amazon. Connect power and ground to the power & ground at the rear of the head unit - don’t splice into the reverse lights
No drill install - use the screw for the license plate light & bracket folds up underneath. Wire goes through the grommet inside the rear fascia behind the passenger tail lights.
You are right, I had Pioneer and Kenwood mixed up. Actually, found the Pioneer model I had ordered won't work in a Vette (confirmed by others) and switched the order to a Kenwood Excelon 706 which has similar features. Did order a back up camera from Crutchfield,,,, yea, I know they're a bit more expensive but supposedly gets excellent reviews. I'll look for a little cheaper one for the front as that's not as critical just so I can see the parking curbs. The Kenwood supposedly has dual camera inputs.
