I am looking for a new FOB for my 2011, but I might have a bit of a snag. My tumbler for the emergency key DOES NOT TURN!!!! I have tried lube, graphite and enough force to bend the key and still no turn. It budges enough to barley move the pull cable, but not enough to program a FOB if I was to guess. Is there another way to program a FOB or do I have to buy a whole new assembly to get a tumbler to work???
Now I am starting to wonder if the key (in FOB) is actually cut for my tumbler??? Is there anything on the tumbler assy that gives me a code to get one made???? I am the 3rd owner and the FOB I have is not a stock one for sure (no vette emblem or identification on the bottom)....
So dealership with VIN on this I have read....... Will try this to see if the tumbler will work with the new key.

There is a way to create the required circuit by joining the tan and black wires in the connector to the switch. See post #608 near the end of this thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ctions-31.html Two paper clips were used to bridge the wires. Looks simple enough.
Edit: You could also check to see if the cut key works in the glove box lock. If not, it's probably the wrong key altogether.

If all else fails, and you don't have the correct physical key for your car, you can take VIN and proof of ownership to any GM dealership and have a key cut.
