So, I was traveling with a group of car guys today and a deer ran into the side of my car. The guys following me said it was quite spectacular. It hit the drivers door and mirror and cart wheeled over the top of my convertible, yes, the top was down. The only real damage was a broken/missing piece of glass from my mirror. The marks on the door wiped right off! I'll consider myself lucky that it's just the glass in the mirror. Anyone have a lead on a drivers mirror glass?
Yep, gotta watch out for those suicidal deer, they're all over the place. I think the government should set up a suicide hot line for them. Can't help much on the mirror glass, the only thing I can suggest is checking the C6 Parts for sale/wanted section of this forum and see if you can possible find a used mirror there, or a Corvette recycling yard, or getting a pair of these cool aftermarket mirrors from Vette Lights. https://www.vette-lights.com/collect...side-mirrors-1 which would be kinda pricy, unless you could get your insurance to pay for them, what the heck.
I got lucky and never had a problem with the estimated 10,000 deer on the USAF base where I worked for 36+ years, even though I drove a Vette back and forth to work for a few of those years.
But a lady friend of mine who worked the 11 PM to 7 AM shift hit 7 deer in about 20 years, all at 7 AM on her way home from work.

That happened to me many many years ago in my first car, a 1987 Monte Carlo SS. The thing ran into my driver side door right at the mirror, but didn't flip over the car. For maybe half of a second I saw this deer face pressed against the glass. Then it was gone.

Yep, the worst time for them is around sunup and sunset, that's when they're the most prone to kill themselves.
Those pesky critters. I've got whole families out here where we live....in our yard which they treat as they private dining room! So far, one side strike on my Tahoe which the paintless dent folks repaired.
