Default Speaker upgrade

I have a Pioneer head unit installed and currently running the stock Bose speakers and amps. Would it be worth it to replace the 3.5’s in the doors/dash and the 5.25’s in the rear. Just looking to get clearer highs and vocals. The bass from the Bose subs in the doors is fine for my tastes.

I upgraded my 3.5" with JBL and my 5.25" with Rockford Fosgates with a Jensen HU and I am happy. Sounds more clear and gets louder. I also added a 10" sub. I say do it, go with whatever speaker brand you prefer.

Thanks…I’ll order some Kickers. I’ve got them in my truck and on my Harley so I know the sound is good enough from those.

After adding a Kenwood head unit, I replaced the rears with Kicker 43DSC504 and the front center with Kicker 46CC354. Big difference!

If running the speakers through the bose amp, then Kicker CS series speakers (will need to change out the speaker connectors at the speaker, or pick up connector converters). The speakers will fit the factory locations, and have the needed sensitive to work with the system. So other speakers may have a higher amperage rating, but have a lower sensitive rating isntead.

Hence 3.5" in the doors, and 5.25"s in the rear.
The speakers are poly cone, and come with build in tweeters to get crisper highs, as well pick up some more mid base fill in the rears from the CS speakers as well.
https://www.kicker.com/cs-series

Now on the bose amp, the only two speakers out of the system that are stereo channel, are the two 3.5" in the doors.
The 3.5 in the dash, thumpers in the doors, as well as the 5.25" in the rears, are all mono channel out of the Bose amp (for filler).
So since the dash speaker is only a fill speaker, can leave the OEM in play, or disconnect the dash speaker to get better side to side separation out of the doors speakers.

You could go with other speakers, but as stated, would lose the needed sensitive to work correctly with the OEM thumpers in the doors correctly.
Note, the Kicker KS can handle more power from another amp putting out more power, but will be a step backwards when used with the Bose amp since they have lower sensitivity.

Thanks for that information. I don’t want to put too much into the system which is basically fine for me, just lacking some crispness in the highs and clarity in the vocals. The Kickers are readily available and have made improvements in both my truck and my Harley.
