Default OK, about that oil change flavors ?

I'm not looking to kick any dogs sleeping, ( Yet I sorta know I will ) any one favor Amsoil over Mobil-1 ??? I'm using a Bosch oil filter which over the years I've become sort of fond about. I just think your less likely to find MADE IN CHINA on a Bosch parts !

I use Mobil 1 and my Blackstone analysis came back perfect, so no need to use anything else. I use either the Mobil 1 filter or K&N whichever is in stock at Walmart.

Mobil 1 oil and filter. No issues, so why change?

I noticed castrol edge makes the engine quieter. Prob no difference tbh. It was the same with my S2000 - M1 vs Redline, the redline always quieted down the engine but I ran M1 most of the time and that engine took a beating with no problem. Buy any good synthetic in the right viscosity and you'll have zero issues as long as you change it on time.

my 2 c. Just keep it consistent.

I have Castrol Edge in the engine, Redline in the trans TR6060 - D4 ATF, and M1LS in the rear. I might swap to castrol edge for the rear since my local walmart now carries the castrol for cheap...

My thoughts are the factory is smarter than me so I use what they require.

And what do they require? It's not Mobil 1; it is "recommended". You honestly can't go wrong as long as you use any oil that meets the oil specification that the owner's manual requires.

That said, I typically use Pennzoil Platinum because it's available almost everywhere, it's the same price as Mobil 1, and it's a "better" oil than Mobil 1. If they are out of PP when I do an oil change I will just buy another highly rated/tested oil like Castrol Edge, Castrol Magnatec, Quaker State Ultimate Durability, Valvoline Modern Engine Oil, Mobil 1 Advanced Full Synthetic.

why would I use anything different?!

That's not oil.......

Soybean, sunflower, safflower, olive, "vegetable"; those qualify.

But, it melts when it gets warm.

And it provides great engine protection since it has a very high flash temp.

Also, if you have any left from your oil change, it is healthy if eaten everyday:

Did a good bit of research on this and since I change my oil once a year ( under 6k a year ).... I cannot go wrong with the Amazon Basics Synthetic oil. Tested just as good as Mobil 1. Now if the vette was a daily, I would probably go Mobil 1.

Don't care. That's nothing more than a marketing agreement between GM and Mobil. Show me where GM says Mobil 1 is required. You can't, because it's not.
