Default I'm BAAAaaaack

Hey guys. It's been three years since I sold my '99 coupe and since I've posted here (as seefivedave), but I finally found a car that I'm truly happy with. Last week I bought this 2012 GS, only 14k miles, truly like-new condition. Couldn't be more thrilled! Great to be back!Name: photo49.jpg

Welcome back!

I just traded my base 05 for a GS close to yours, CRM, aluminum wheels, not chrome but same style. Mine isn't in the pristine condition of yours, but driving it this week has been a dream, wow what a difference from a 2005 base....

I know there is a ZR1/ Z06 Forum, do we have one for Grand Sports?

Gorgeous car, OCD!!!

Marty, look at the top of the posting page, where you should see "Hammy's Grand sport Bar & Grill". While there is not a "dedicated" GS sector in the C6 forums, that comes pretty close. You will have fun there, I think.

Twins! Nice! When I sold my 99, I cruised the internet for what I wanted next. This is the pic I screen shot three years ago...Name: photo267.jpg

Recently traded my base 05 in mag red for this Grand Sport in CRM. Looks stock, but the older gent who had it before me had it supercharged and tuned.

Wow, what a difference, not just in power, but handling with the Z16 package.

Not the best photos ( i have the lexan top too, so ditto on the twins above)

Wow! Congrats Marty. I like the wheels, and a supercharger and tune makes all the difference!

Yeah, back you @OCDvetteman ! I wish mine were Chrome, I know a lot of guys don't like he chrome but I do (old school I guess). Any plans for your car? Or just DRIVE it?

I got really lucky, this older gent traded it for a Genesis, and he was kind enough to let the dealership pass on his name to a potential buyer. I never thought I would buy a vette from a dealer, I prefer to know the guy who did the mods. The owner was super great, gave me all the back ground, and really big bonus, was a total car guy, just time for him to have a place to put his grand kids.

I really wasn't looking to move up, I just happened by a local dealer and stopped in to take a look. I had JUST put headers on my base, and a dyno tune like two months ago, was collecting parts to do a head/cam swap, and BAM. I found this, at a crazy price, since the dealer priced it at bluebook not adding anything for the supercharger/tune mod. I took way less for my car than I really wanted to (maybe 5K), but I gave way WAY less (like 10K) than I expected for a car of this caliber.

I took it for a spirited road test drive yesterday.... WOW.

Have fun with your car, Looks awesome (Obviously!)

No plans yet other than cruising. But I do intend to keep the car a while, so who knows? Headers, exhaust, tune? I'm fortunate to have a neighbor that drag races and works on cars who can maintain and mod it for me.

Yeah I wasn't actively looking either. From time to time I stroll Facebook marketplace for private sellers, but I got kicked off for a couple of months (I guess you can't sell car parts on there??). Then one day I was suddenly back on and there she was! I couldn't believe it. The seller was second owner. First owner only put 13k miles on it in 8 years. Seller didn't have it long before he decided he'd sell this and his 35th anniversary '88 so he could get into a C8. Hence the HUGE smile on my face! Great talking to you and stay in touch!

Lol...that's the seller's driveway. Do you think OCDvetteman would have a driveway that looked like that? Can you believe...it had been a heat wave all week. I go to get the car. It's in pristine condition, and I hit rain on the 30" drive home. Sheesh! With work and vacation hadn't had time to wash it yet. Nice catch though!
