A quick question: I have a new Range device. The box says to remove it if the car is to sit a few days. It says the battery might get drained down. I'm surprised. The device doesn't look like it would draw very many milli-amps at all.

OBDII port power stays on with the vet off (c6 up).
So this is the reason that you need to unplug any device plugged into the OBD II port when the motor is not running; to not drain down the battery.
On my dodge truck and other older makes that use a key to start the car like the C5, OBDII power turns off with the key when the motor is turned off isntead.
