Can you tell if a C6 has the Z51 option from the VIN#?
I don't think so.

Are you sure about that? The VIN itself won't tell you. Model year 2010 and newer will have the option package name, but I don't think that says anything about Z51.

Compnine will give you all the cars option list based on the Vin #. The GM VIS report will also show the options list as well.
here is the compnine report for my car. It has changed from the time I got it, but still shows all the options, just in a different format.
This is only part what will show & it's how I found out my car has Z51 option .....ts that simple & free.
. Nice find. I put my Vin # in and under additional information, all is correct, but 45U is listed as medium green, then tint coat of VY. I wasn't aware that the color green was the base coat? The other stuff above the additional info is not specific to my particular car, as many things listed is just for the first 12 digits of the Vin, and not specific to the last 6 digits of my car. I've had nothing done at a GM dealer or other service dept. since 2009. In 2009, a 100 point certified inspection was carried out prior to me taking ownership.
