C6 Steering Wheel Restoration?

C6 Steering Wheel Restoration?
Has anyone used a kit like this on their C6 leather steering wheel?

The wheel on my 2006 (2LT if it matters) is absolutely wasted from the combined effects of Texas sun and Houston palm sweat. It is sticky all the way around and honestly makes the car unpleasant to drive. If anyone has experience with this or any similar kit, I would appreciate your comments on the process, the results, and the alternatives.
Thanks!

I paid a "Pro" that "fixes" dealers vehicles to do something similar on an old Lexus I purchased several years ago. Car was a DD and it looked pretty good after it was done but it didn't hold up. I suggest purchasing a new wheel from Rock Auto or a lightly used wheel from a member on CF. I just sold a like new wheel from my 2011 GS 3LT for $150 shipped. I've seen them sell for less.... and more. It's an easy part to replace.

Ive used....... Doc Baileys.....on my wifes car with satiffactory re sults......problem is like you said it dont last.....but cheaper to do it alot by yourself than to have a pro do it. A new wheel is an option with yours as a core.

Thanks for the quick replies and good information. The AC Delco wheels have come down in price dramatically since I last looked a couple of years ago, I guess the Corvette tax diminishes once your vette is two generations old. I just ordered a new one for $180. They don't sell the exact 2006 part number anymore, but it looks like you can swap the connectors and the spoke trim onto a 2008+ style wheel.
