Hi Everyone. I am new here, and this is my 1st post. I've read a lot of the posts regarding the rear view mirror, and I was wonderong could I purchase and install a 2006+ mirror and install on my 2005 C6 ? They look the same. Also, is there any other Chevrolet model, with the same body type of rear view mirror, which I could swap with my current mirror which is broke. Trying to find a way to not splash out $400 on a mirror. Thanks
Welcome to the forum. The 2006 and later models have a 16 pin connector at the mirror. The airbag on/off light for the passenger was moved from the console tombstone in 2005 to the rearview mirror in 2006 and later years. I have the later years connector pin end view with labels, but I do not have it for the 2005, so I can't determine if the connector and pin labels are the same and empty for pin 3 and 4 which are used fir the airbsg indicators, or if it will work. I see a few mirrors for the 2005 listed on Ebay for less than $100.
I guess the real question is, why do you need to replace the mirror? Is it shaking or won't stay adjusted?
I can't answer your question directly, but if you can accept a used mirror in good condition, don't limit your search to Corvettes. GM probably used the same mirror in several of their models in 2005: maybe Buicks, Cadillacs, Suburbans, and so on. What you need is the part #.

What's "broke" about it?
If the problem is that it falls when you hit a bump. Take the mirror off, rough up the ball, and put some grippy black sealant in the hole. If you have at least half of the grip fingers left it will work fine. While the sealant is curing install and adjust the mirror. (You can only adjust the mirror a couple of times after this or you'll need to repeat the process)
Hi, it is the plastic tabs where the metal ball sits on, they have broken off. I can see below someone has said look at other mirrors from 2005, so I will do that. If I do see one for $100, then I will buy

Yes! No way I'd pay $383. Try my method you've got nothing to lose. I just put some sealant (I used silicone caulk) in the hole. Set the metal ball/hanger close to the correct position. Then wait a bit to see if it's going to work you should be able to tell by the mirror's resistance. If not try something different.
The most important thing is when you put the mirror assembly back on the window push and turn ONLY on the hanger NOT the mirror. Don't push the hanger on the window just line up the internal pins with the flats on the window mount, takes almost no effort, then turn the mount 120 degrees (If I recall) and it will lock on the window. Then adjust the mirror.
