Circle Tracks
Also, since you don't use a lot of breaking for circle track racing, really don't get the Vet to corner as hard as say a wedge set up, since your not weight transferring into the corners.
So wrong set up to be really fast into and through the corners, and tire wear will just be how hard you push the car/how much drifting style you are using to keep the car fast through the corners. Plus, no right turns (unless the track is set up for road coarse), track set up to run restrictor plates to keep speed down if just running oval, so just not my style of racing for a road coarse set up car to begin with.
Note, if your looking for a circle track that was designed to be run at over 200mph, then it's Talladega. The downfall to the track, only the very first race where were cars allowed to run unrestricted at 250mph speeds, and since tires where not up the challenge at the time, and safety rules kicked in after that, because another Nascar track of restrictor plates to keep the speeds under 200mph.
So my suggestion, instead of looking at running oval tracks, look to run road courses (will have right turns as well), where the car is correctly set up to begin with; to corner in both directions. As for tires and wear, just the tip of the iceberg, since the gripper the tires, the better the brakes and the suspension has to be as well. Hence run R7 race compound tires on a road course, and the first thing you will be replacing will be the wheel bearings, since the OEM's are just not up the higher G forces that the tires will produce in the corners, and will wear out the OEM wheel bearing in just a few events.
when I was in Daytona not too long ago, there was a guy who ran that track with his Vette. I did t get a chance to ask him about it. I have driven Pocono and Charlotte racetracks, but, in NASCAR stock cars. I must say that, it was a hell of a thrill to drive that fast and then turn right.
FWIW - I've raced at Daytona, but never driven around the track in a street car.
