Get a load of this one. After a TCM replacement and tune re-flash failed to fix the problematic 6L80 in my '12GS I made the decision to have it pulled and sent back to the trans builder to be gone through. The builder found numerous issues and I feel stupid for not biting the bullet and sending it back a year ago instead of fighting with it. On the way back it was "lost" in shipment and I will be waiting for up to four months for the insurance claim to be paid so the trans shop will build a replacement. Since I have no choice (other than pay for a new build) I choose to look on the positive side. I believe "everything happens for a reason" and there must be a reason I will end up with a "new" build .
How do you "lose" a 6l80e? It says a lot about freight carriers and runners these day, they don't give a crap what happens to their cargo . But I know it's what were stuck with now days.

New build better than Old build. Hopeful that it all works out for you.
Thanks. My trans problems can be traced back to the builder of my car who will go unmentioned. I blew up the A6 on my third shakedown run. When I sent it back to the trans builder for repair he informed me that based upon his serial number the trans was more than two years older than my build and was built for another car. I can only assume my car builder charged me for a new build of my stock trans but put in a used one he had laying around in his shop. Even though the lost transmission has put my car on the shelf (actually a lift at my local tuner's shop which is a real burden for him) it may be for the best.

After a long delay due to slow insurance payment and supply chain issues getting a key part for the replacement transmission, my replacement trans is built and on the way back to me! This was the only thing on my Christmas list and Santa came through! Phooey to those who say Santa Claus is not real

Update- Got my car back Thursday. I need to drive it on the street to have the new transmission "learn" and then off to some Test and Tune sessions. The first points race of 2022 is Feb 26 and I should be ready!!

Per the guidance from the trans builder I am driving the car on the street to allow the newly built trans to "learn". I trailer this car to the track and I hate driving on the street due to all the dumb *** drivers here in FL. What is the MINIMUM number of street miles I need for the trans to "learn" a.k.a "Trans Adapt"?
Lost here, since if the trans was built for racing, should just be a matter of making sure that the after market trans tune in the car is correct to start with, then sending the car down the track.
