What temperatures do the fans run? I know my C4 fan temps were surprisingly high. Yesterday air temps were in 90s and Vette temp got up to 225 in street driving at stop lights (it would drop down once I started moving to 217) . I've got 102,000 miles on my 2007 (I've only had it for a year). So, I'm just trying to figure out if I have a problem.
Seems a little warm compared to what mine runs. I typically cruise right at 190. The highest I've seen is around 210 after a few rounds of drag racing.
during the summer months, where i live, i routinely see 100°+ temps daily. around town with the A/C on, it will regularly see temps in the 220°- 230° range while stopped. while moving around town it'll be around 205°-210°.
on the freeway, it runs 198°-201°. ( '09 LS3, car has 193k miles, engine has 30k miles ).
Oil temps, AC pressure, AT fluid temps can all command the fan to high, but the main driver for fan speed is coolant temps. BTW simply turning on the AC doesnt automatically run the fan, but if the AC pressure gets high enough it will.
Seeing temps of 221+ in traffic is to be expected since the fan isn't commanded to high until around that temp. At highway speeds the fan shouldn't operate at all once you get moving for a bit because the airflow should be more than sufficient. With the OEM t-stat temps around 195 can be expected, but all bets are off if the coolant is low, there is an air bubble, air flow is obstructed, or the t-stat is jammed partially closed.
I've noticed something on my '06 that seems counter intuitive. If cruising at 50mph, light load, it runs cooler in fourth gear than in in fifth and even warmer in sixth. I would think that the lower rpm would cause less friction and heat in the engine and run cooler. But I think that the water pump is less efficient at those lower rpms and needs to be spinning close to 2000 to move the coolant enough. Just an observation. Perhaps at 70 mph, enough air passes through the radiator to offset this.
Living in Arizona, summertime temperatures in metro Phoenix during the months of mid-June through mid-September can run from 105 to 115 degrees. I have the A & A supercharger with the large intercooler, and while moving in traffic will have temps go as high as 230.....when it gets to that point I turn off the A/C and the temp comes back down to 220, drive for a bit, then turn the A/C back on until the temp rises again. Otherwise, when temps are lower I have no issues. It's definitely because of the intercooler not allowing as much airflow, and of course the high atmospheric temps. Now that the temperatures are in the mid 80's to low 90's with dry air, there are no issues.

Higher engine speed makes the pump turn faster. People have also reported lower temps after swapping to 4:10 gears
I routinely see temps around 225 when the weather is hot and I am driving in the city. I have a dewitts radiator and make sure to change the coolant per the owners manual. There was no difference in temps with the stock radiator vs the Dewitts. I have an LS2.
When is the last time the coolant was changed? It should be changed every five years max, so it should be going on it’s 3rd change about now. If it wasn’t changed recently, start there.
2008 w/ 60k miles. Changed fluid, r&r fans-and connectors, but still saw higher temps. Took front shield apart to where I could get between cooler and used air to clean out sand and rode debris - got a lot! Followed with water flush using low pressure flow and a 90 degree nozzle. Got more trash out again. Put everything back together and car runs 10-12 degrees cooler in traffic during 95-98 degree days.
