Default Door won’t open

Been driving around all day doing errands with no issues. Arrive home and door will not open. Had to use the emergency escape (LOL). Anyone have idea what could be going on?

Maybe the driver's door release button stopped working. Need some additional information and testing.

1. Does the external door entry pad work on the Driver's door? Test the Passenger also.
2. Does the internal door release button work on the passenger door?
3. Does the internal door release button for the drivers's door still NOT work?

If the above is true and #3 is intermittent. Then you should suspect that the driver's door internal release button is failing and will require replacement. If the items are false, then you may have a failing key fob battery or possible car battery failing. These are some of the easy items. Otherwise it could be the Driver door latch or external pads need cleaning (#1) or RCDLR module or BCM starting to have problems.

Release Switch - GM (10362041)

Give us more information from the above that will assist with isolating the problem.

Good luck.

GD

With the additional information you provided, I agree with HK770 and that you have a problem with the Driver's door latch. The below thread might assist you with the replacement process:

Diagnostic Steps:

Door Latch Inoperative from All Door Handle Switches

Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the inoperative door latch.
Connect a test lamp between latch control circuit and ground.
Ignition ON, activate the appropriate interior door handle switch. The test lamp should turn ON when activating the door handle switch.
⇒ If the test lamp is always OFF, test the latch control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.

⇒ If the test lamp is always ON, test the latch control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.

Connect a test lamp between the latch control circuit and latch enable control circuit.
Ignition ON, activate the appropriate interior door handle switch. The test lamp should turn ON when activating the door handle switch.
⇒ If the test lamp is always ON, test the latch enable control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the RCDLR.

⇒ If the test lamp is always OFF, test the latch enable control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the RCDLR.

If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate door latch.

This happened to me a year ago and was the door actuator. On mine you could hear the actuator clicking from inside and outside it just would not open. Part is north of $250 and a fairly easy install.
