I have recently bought a 2009 C6 LT3 that has a defect in the drivers side seat. The seat will NOT move up or down (front to rear is good).
Chevy dealer told me I would have to buy a complete new seat and said this one could not be repaired. I am getting the feeling I am being ripped off.
Has any one else had this problem? If so I would appreciate any recommendations you might have (other than buy a new seat LOL)
I would check under the seat. Sometimes the connectors become loose or partially loose causing all sorts of issues. As others have done I have zip tied those connectors together after making sure of connectors are together correctly.
Also don’t listen to Chevy stealerships, get a second, third and fourth opinion.

First off, yes, that dealer is absolutely trying to rip you off. I had an issue with the seat track in my previous '13 GS and they had no issues replacing just the track/adjusters while keeping the seat. But as others have said, check the connectors under the seat, I bet one has come loose.

JIm, here's what the dealer meant to say; "we won't repair the seat because it's too much trouble for us (our experienced mechanics won't work for standard rates) and we will sell you a whole new seat because we can make more money this way." Hope this helps.
