OEM is best, IMO.

If you like to save money like me:
8 pack of AC-Delco plugs on fleabay for $21
Set of OEM AC-Delco 748RR wires are on that jumbo site in their warehouse return dept for less than half $ as new.

A lot of ppl just go with the factory ac delco plugs and wires. I ended up using NGK TR5 plugs because they are pre-gapped at the factory spec .040 and for the wires I have MSD 8.5mm. No issues with either

+1, but I went with TR55 from Thunder Racing (back in the day), which is good temp for N/A plus was pregapped from Thunder. Can't go wrong with MSD. Keep in mind if you don't go iridium (sp?) you will have to change plugs more often.

OEM wires and plugs, and the reason behind such, they have the needed resistance to work as the needed RF suppressors in the first place.
Hence some wires and plugs to do not have the needed resistance that cause Coil fire RF feed back to the ECM, which can cause all kinds of problems, including alternator not putting out 14.7 volts since the ECM controls that as well.

As for ebay oem spark plugs and wires, know the difference between a genuine plug and wire, and the counterfeit ones. Hence the $20 dollars you will spend at an auto parts store to get genuine from the start, will be a hell of lot cheaper that getting counterfeits from some ebay supplier and the headache.money sending them back trying to get a refund for the knock offs instead.

As for the OEM plugs, are good for 100K, but may want to pull them from time to time to just check them. the wires, 100K as well, but can have problems with age and cracking since the cars are not driving much instead.
As for rest of tune up, change the air filter, and make sure to clean the Maf sensor.
If you want to go one more step, disconnect the battery while you are doing such, since it will reset the ECM back to fresh again, so it can learn the replacement parts faster.
